Innovate to lead the culture change of the internet
Mozilla’s mission is to ensure the internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all. This mission is more important now as millions of new global mobile users are coming online in the next few years, and more than 90% of them are from Emerging Market countries.
Countries in the Emerging Market are different and diversified, even within a given country. However, the need to feel safe, private and have an individual-empowered presence online is the same for the rest of users in the world because it is increasingly a basic need for today’s humankind.
For us, the internet should be the technology that allows living beings to evolve and build an ecosystem to help all lives prosper on our planet. We are evolving to become the leader of User Agency to help secure a healthy, inclusive people-centered internet where folks can truly enjoy their online experiences.
The Emerging Market is one of the fastest growing areas on earth. We are always looking to the future and identifying technologies and opportunities to empower users in this region to gain the myriad of benefits from the digital world. Most importantly, we invite all to develop user empathy that creates a positive impact worldwide sparked from this dynamic region.
The Mozilla Manifesto
We are committed to an internet that includes all the peoples of the earth — where a person’s demographic characteristics do not determine their online access, opportunities, or quality of experience.
We are committed to an internet that promotes civil discourse, human dignity, and individual expression.
We are committed to an internet that elevates critical thinking, reasoned argument, shared knowledge, and verifiable facts.
We are committed to an internet that catalyzes collaboration among diverse communities working together for the common good.
